Morning Connection: AI session

What is AI and how will it impact my children’s education?

On Wednesday, 26th April ISS will host their next morning session! This time our speaker will be David Devey, Director of Technology, Learning and Innovation at ISS, who introduces us to the topic:

You would be hard pressed to have not heard something about AI in the news recently. OpenAI, ChatGPT, Bard, Bing – all words that have been in the headlines on the global news stage. Italy has banned it over privacy concerns and leaders have called for a slowdown on AI development. Exam bodies have been scrabbling to write statements that cover the use of AI in submission of coursework

The tools are already here in one form or another and students across the world are engaging with them. What will be the impact on our children’s education?

These are the topics to be covered during the presentation:

What is AI?

What impact can it have on society?

What impact can it have on educators and students?

What are exam and awarding bodies doing about it?

What is the future of AI?
