Morning Connections: Norwegian Outdoor Lifestyle

Morning Connections is a supportive parent community and venue for learning about education, parenting, expat life and living in Norway.
Join the Morning Connections event on Monday 17 March with our ISS outdoor education experts Anne Lise Riedl and Damian Gielty, who will be presenting "Outdoor Life in Norway".

Whether you're new to the country or a seasoned explorer, this presentation will provide valuable insights and inspiration for enjoying the incredible natural beauty that surrounds us. We'll be covering a range of topics, including:

  • Outdoor Life in Norway: "Turer" of all kinds: Explore the diverse range of hikes and adventures that Norway has to offer.
  • The Right to Roam (Allemannsretten): Understand and appreciate the freedom and responsibilities associated with this unique right.
  • Turistforeningen (DNT): Discover local and national opportunities for hiking and outdoor activities through the Norwegian Trekking Association.
  • Events, Calendars, and Hikes: Learn about upcoming outdoor events and how to find organized hikes.
  • Digital Resources for Maps: Explore helpful digital tools for navigating and planning your outdoor adventures.
  • Other Activities: Discover opportunities with groups like BRV (Bratte Rogaland Venner) and SKK (Stavanger Kajakkklubb).
  • The ISS Outdoor Program: Learn about the outdoor education initiatives at our school and how they benefit our students.

We believe that experiencing the outdoors is an essential part of life in Norway, and we're excited to share our passion for "friluftsliv" with you.
