Camping essentials

The Stavanger region has many beautiful spots for camping, both for new beginners and for experienced campers.

This evening we meet at Speidermarka by store Stokkavann. A group of experienced scouts will present practical tips on how to safely start your camping adventure if you want more than a short day trip.

The scouts will bring lots of different equipment to demonstrate, amongst tent, sleeping bags, primus etc. All of which can be rented at Frilager.no for your next adventure! Renting or buying second hand is a great way of living a sustainable life and cutting down the cost of each camping trips ♻️

Program:

18.00 Meet up @ Speidermarka (please be on time).  

18.15 Welcome by Stavanger Chamber International and speiderne (the scouting organization)

18.20 How to have a successful trip no matter the weather conditions?

🏕️ Map, compass...etc

🏕️ Putting up you tent! Where are you allowed to do so, and how to find a good secure spot

🏕️ Sleeping outdoors - necessary equipment! sleeping bag, tent, extra outfit etc.

🏕️ Camp cooking (includes samples) 

🏕️ Fishing and how to access clean water when hiking! What can be used and what to avoid. 

🏕️ Q & A and all kind of tips for happy outdoor activities!

Arrive by bus or car and walk the remaining distance to speiderhytta. 

This event is ment to equip you with knowledge to jump start your camping interest. There will be several instructors available to answer the questions you might have. Their goal is to leave with eager to start your own adventure, weather it is a short hike or your planing an expedition, to feel safe in Norwegain nature and be a good camping ambassador!
