The Conservatives have been forced to renounce their mayoral seat to the Labour Party. A whole new package of costs and expenses for Urban Development has been agreed upon and new local councils are being created. It is fair to say that not everything has turned out as Christine Sagen Helgø hoped when she announced in August 2018 that she was stepping down as a mayoral candidate after serving for 20 years as a local politician. She has served eight of those twenty years as Mayor of Stavanger.
