13 tips to stop the spread of infection at work

Due to the coronavirus, appropriate safeguards need to be put in place to ensure the health and safety of employees.

1. Implement cough etiquette and good hand hygiene at work
2. Wash your hands frequently, also after coughing, using restrooms, prior to meals and prior to meal preperation
3. Alcohol based disinfectant should be available for hand cleaning at building entrances, canteen entrances and food preperation areas
3. Have tissues and hand cleaning facilities available
4. Stay home if you are sick (so you do not spread the virus to other people).
5. Use a tissue, or cough and sneeze into your arm, not your hand. Turn away from other people.
6. Use single-use tissues. Dispose of the tissue immediately.
7. Wash your hands after coughing, sneezing or using tissues.
8. Implement videoconferences/meetings to avoid travel
9. Do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth (viruses can transfer from your hands and into the body).
10. Do not share cups, glasses, dishes or cutlery.
11. Avoid travel to China, Iran, South Korea, Nortern Italy and Tirol in Austria
12. Make contingency plans for employees subject to self quarantine and facilitate working from home
13. If experiencing symtoms call 116117 for advice and testing
