In May Anette Sigmundstad took over the position as airport manager.
One would think that our new airport manager is especially interested in airplanes, considering she grew up with a father who worked as an air traffic controller. Sigmunstad´s main interest is in the society an airport creates, and the regional importance an airport has for the region it is located in. She is also focused on environmental issues - perhaps seen as a paradox in a world where flying increasingly becomes stigmatized.
Air transport has changed significantly, and will continue to do so. Sigmundstad is convinced that the First Passenger Electric Aircraft from Sola is only a few years away.
- I have been interested in environmental issues for a long time. I hope, and believe that in ten years time Stavanger Lufthavn Sola will appear to be environmentally friendly and innovative she says.
