Salmon on the menu
In his role as Managing Director of Akva Group, Knut Nesse heads up the supply of technology and services which will, inter alia, help to solve the biological challenges of the global aquaculture industry. This is by no means coincidental. Norway currently supplies over 50% of all salmon consumed around the world and the conditions for the production of farmed salmon in the Norwegian fjords are unique. However, if the industry is to become more sustainable and is to avoid long transport routes in order to reach the major markets, the plants need to be moved increasingly onto land, where the major markets are located. This challenge is the key focal area of Knut Nesse´s work at the current time.
